Another new event launches this year, the Historic Rally Festival, which promises an action-packed and highly evocative weekend, including the first multi-venue historic rally in the UK, making use of classic ’80s RAC Rally stages.

Spectators will be able to watch crews tackle the famous Weston Park, where the festival is based, and in Telford on the Saturday, enthusiasts can watch scrutineering and the ceremonial start.

And just because it is officially a demonstration event and not timed, don’t expect the crews to be holding back. With Audi quattros, MG Metro 6R4s, Lancias Fulvia and Integrale, Ford Escorts and many more already confirmed, it should be quite a spectacle.
